Delicious raw, vegan tarts made entirely of fruit!

Hi! I feel a little silly asking this, but is Naked juice good for you? It's got all fruit, but I'm not sure if it's one of those lotsa-fruit/lotsa-sugar drinks or not.
Hi! It depends on your goals: if you’re looking for a treat and want to indulge in a smoothie, there is no sugar added in these juices. However, even if it’s written “All sugars are found naturally in the fruit” on the bottle, it’s also written “Not a low calorie food”.
If you’re trying to shape up or maintain your weight, you’re way better off avoiding any kind of fruit juices and eating real fruits instead. Most of the fiber in fruit is lost when it’s turned into juice. For example, one orange contains about 3 gram of fiber. It takes about six cups of orange juice to reach the 3 grams of fiber in an orange.
My friend says he eats 1-2.5 lbs of fruits when he's hungry instead of a cheeseburger. I guess at first thought it could be a better alternative but is it really if it's to that much volume of fruits?
Hi! No, eating 1-2.5lbs of fruits (= around 1kg for my “metric system” followers!) is not a better alternative. It’s just too much fruit, too much fructose (fruit sugar) and no protein. It is not a balanced meal.
An example of a slightly better alternative to a cheeseburger could be a whole grain wrap with grilled chicken and an apple: you get one lean source of protein (chicken breast) + one cup of fibrous carbs (salad inside the wrap & apple) + a portion of whole grain carbs (the wrap).
A quince jelly I made yesterday evening cooking two quinces with 5 grams of agar-agar and a few dried cranberries.
two questions: are the sugars from fruits horrible? that is where i get most of my sugar intake from but i am ALWAYS over on sugars. Second, what about sparkling water- good or bad? thanks <3
Thanks for these two good questions!
#1- Sugars from fruits
A detailed article here: www.muscleandfitnesshers.com/nutrition/dieting/diet-doctor-13
The article in a nutshell: sugar from fruits is healthier than regular sugar, but it’s still sugar, so don’t go nuts on fruits. But you can still eat 2-3 servings of fruit per day! Good times for fruit are in the morning and before workouts. Also, try to eat more vegetables than fruits. It’s possible to make healthy desserts with vegetables. With rhubarb or zucchini for example! My veggie-page for inspiration: http://fitnesstreats.tumblr.com/tagged/veggies
#2 - Sparkling water vs. plain water
Sparkling water is ok if it’s still just water: no flavored sparkling waters, no sugar or artificial sweeteners. The gas in the water doesn’t have any harmful effect.

All you do is cut up your favourite fruit, drop it into a popsicle mold, and then fill up the remaining space with juice. Freeze overnight.
