Hi! Your body stores fat according to your genes. You can’t control where you burn fat. Just like where you store it, your genes are also semi-responsible as to where your fat burns off first. So even if you are doing exercises that specifically target certain areas of your body, you won’t necessarily burn the fat from there. You’ll have to clean up your diet and increase your overall calorie burn to trick your body into taping into your hip fat reserves.
Hula hooping can be a fun workout though! Here is an idea for a hula hoop workout that I found on this blogpost: get a timer, perform each move for 1 minute, and repeat the circuit several times:
- Regular hula hoop
- Hula hoop in a plié squat position
- Hula hoop in a right lunge position
- Hula hoop in a left lunge position
- Hula hoop with the right leg up
- Hula hoop with the left leg up
- Hula hoop while marching in place
